About WebRidge

An independent Brisbane advisory focused on microservices refactoring and performance tuning — not a staffing firm and not a product company.

Origin

WebRidge began after years of watching Australian product companies fund “platform programmes” that never named which service boundary would move first. The practice was set up in Brisbane to offer something narrower: short, evidence-led consulting on refactoring and latency, then a clean exit so your own engineers keep ownership.

Mission

Help teams make the next durable change to their service estate — the one that reduces coupling or measurable delay — without selling them a permanent methodology brand.

How we work

  • Measure before manifesto. Performance claims need traces or query evidence.
  • Name the boundary. Refactor advice names services, data owners, and contracts — not abstract maturity levels.
  • Leave artefacts, not dependency. Plans are written so a lead engineer who was not in every workshop can still execute.
  • Respect Australian delivery calendars. We schedule around financial-year freezes, retail peaks, and public holidays rather than pretending every week is equal.

Values in practice

Honesty about scope beats optimism. If a rewrite is theatre, we say so. If a one-line pool configuration will buy you a quarter of relief, that is the headline — not a slide about culture.

Community

We occasionally speak at Brisbane and Sydney engineering meetups on extraction sequencing and latency triage. Those talks are separate from client work; client material is never reused without written permission.
